It is situated in the range of hills of Shevaroy mountain in Eastern Ghats. 1. PAGODA POINT
The mysterious piles of stones arranged in the form of a pyramid like a pagoda give this place its unique name. It is situated in the eastern part of Yeracaud Hills, Pagoda point is a beautiful view point from where one can have a panoramic view of the entire Salem city as well as the neighbouring village of Kakambadi. It’s also one of best places to visit at yeracaud .Tourists are allowed to visit from 7 am to 7 pm. There is no entry fee for Pagoda Point.
2. EMERALD LAKE
It is situated at a distance of 1.5 kilometers from Yeracaud bus stand. It is known for its surreal views and lush greenery, this lake is major picnic spot in Yeracaud. Tourists can visit this place anytime as it is open 24 hours and also there is no entry fee. But this lake has floating fountain and boating facilities are available at reasonable rates. Self propelled and rowing boats can be selected as per your convenience and interest. The Lake is one of top places to visit at yeracaud .
3. ANNA PARK
It is one of the best Yeracaud tourists place. It is an ideal place to visit during a picnic trip to the highest points of Tamil Nadu. The park houses a collection of natural species of plants and trees seen around the Shevaroy hills. A Japanese park within the colourful complex of Anna park showcases the ancient Japanese method of gardening. You can visit this place between 9 am to 6 pm and there is no entry fee for this place.
4. LADY’S SEAT
It is believed that an English lady used to spend her evenings at this place and enjoy the beautiful view of this rock. The beauty of this place increase incredibly with the arrival of evening. Apart from this, the place also has a viewing tower, which provides telescopes to enjoy the beautiful views. The viewing tower is open for tourists during the day. Tourists are allowed to visit from 7 am to 7 pm. There is no entry fee for Lady’s seat.
5. KILLIYUR FALLS
Killiyur falls is a waterfall in the Shervaroyen hill range in the eastern ghats of Tamil Nadu. The water flowing from the Yeracaud lake falls at a height of 91 metres in the Kiliyur Valley. The best way to reach these waterfalls would be to hire a private vehicle or drive your own. You can visit this place between 8 am to 6 pm and there is no entry fee for this place.
6. BEAR CAVE
It is one of the best Yeracaud tourists place. Bear cave is buried about 7 feet below the ground. The cave is located in a private coffee estate near the Norton Bungalow. Even though it is a private property, the owner has been kind enough to open it for tourists, which lies on the way to Severoyan Temple. There is no entry fee for this place and you can visit this place anytime. The cave is one of best places to visit at yeracaud .
7. ANNAMALAIYAR TEMPLE
The height of the temple is about 1400 meters above the ground and it offers a variety of scenic views. It is an exquisite Shiva Temple with a single tower which is shaped like colourful sculptures. You can visit this place between 9 am to 6 pm and you didn’t have to pay a single penny for this place. This beautiful place is definitely worth visiting with family and friends.
8. BOTANICAL GARDEN
It is also known as ‘The National Orchidarium’. It is located at a distance of 3 kilometers from Emerald lake and has a wide variety of orchids including 30 orchid species that are exclusively found here. With 3000 trees, 18000 bushels and spread over 18 hectares of land, it is one of the naturally awe-inspiring places in Yeracaud. Timings to visit this place is 8 sm to 6 pm. There is no entry fee for Botanical garden.
